Can I junk a car without a title?

What To Do After You Have Sold Your Car?

Return your license plates (tags) to your nearliest MVA or DMV

Cancel your insurance:
Notify your insurance company that you have sold your car and tell them to remove it from your policy.
IMPORTANT: Do not cancel your insurance until you are sure that MVA/DMV has received your license plates. If you cancel your insurance first, then you will have to pay a fee for an insurance lapse.
